Rentadep was born in Medellín while we were still in university…

And it didn’t start as a “company.” It started as a family apartment and a very real curiosity to understand the world of hospitality. We were 21 years old, we loved welcoming travelers, learning how everything worked, and we became obsessed with doing things the right way.
Impeccable cleaning, fast responses, simple details with purpose…
…Making people feel comfortable, at ease, truly at home.
At some point, we went through the same experience any property owner does:
We had to travel and needed someone to take care of the apartment. We said, “Alright, let’s find a property manager.”
And that’s when we realized something was missing.
It wasn’t just that there were only a few. It was the way they operated.
There wasn’t much clarity. No one really explained how everything worked. It wasn’t very transparent what was happening with your property, how you would see your numbers, reports, or even the basic day-to-day details. And to us, that felt really strange…
…because a property isn’t just anything. It’s an asset. It represents hard work. It’s something you truly want to take care of.
So we said:
let’s do it ourselves… but our way.
And that’s how RENTADEP was born.
At the beginning, it was a lot of hard work and word of mouth.
So much learning: incredible guests, unexpected situations, perfect days, tough days — back then, we did everything ourselves.
Because hospitality isn’t just about welcoming people. It’s about responding when something breaks, when there’s a misunderstanding, when you have to show up, fix things quickly, and protect the property while keeping it in excellent condition at all times.
Making sure guests arrive to exactly what they saw in the photos — and that the property is always well maintained.
And along the way, something happened that changed us: we went back to our first apartment and transformed it. We furnished it better, operated it better, approached it with more intention… and the profitability changed completely.
That’s when we understood something that defines us to this day:
This isn’t about “getting bookings.” It’s about protecting the asset and making it perform at its best — while always taking care of the details that make it stand out.
Then we began to grow: more properties came, our incredible team joined, new projects arrived — entire buildings, developers…
And that’s when we confirmed something else:
Even though operations need to follow certain standards, every property is a different world. And if there’s one thing that truly changes the game, it’s pricing strategy.
Because pricing isn’t just about “raising or lowering rates.” It’s about understanding demand, seasonality, guest behavior, positioning… and making decisions that translate into occupancy and RevPAR.
Today, that’s one of our key differentiators: market-aligned pricing, driven by discipline and data.
What drives us is caring for each asset as if it were our own — because we know how painful damage can be, and how easily a place can deteriorate when no one truly looks after it.
What drives us is improving the numbers without sacrificing the experience. Profitability, of course — but also making sure the guest arrives and says “wow,” sleeps well, feels at ease, and recommends the place.
